We’ve been full timing now for 8 months! Those months have been full of adventures and have flown by. It’s not been all wine and roses but, on the whole, we have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences that we’ve had on the road. We feel very fortunate to have had this opportunity and we would not hesitate to do the same thing all over again.
One of the wonderful things that full timing offers is time to indulge in your passions. David’s is photography and mine is painting. Since we have been in Arizona for a few months, I have been able to paint a lot. I wanted to share a few of my latest paintings with you. Most of them are of some of our favorite places that we have visited on our journey thus far. So here goes…
The first two paintings are of Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming. This is still one of our favorite parks. This first painting is of Oxbow Bend. It is one of the most photographed spots in the National Park because of the reflection of the Tetons in the water.
The second is of String Lake also in Grand Tetons NP. We took a marvelous hike beside this impressive lake. It was definitely one of my favorite hikes that we did in the park.
One of the “new to us” National Parks that we explored was North Cascades NP in Washington State. We fell in love with it. This painting depicts the Cascades mountain range and also the organic Cascadian Farm in the Skagit Valley. You might have seen this brand name in your local grocery store. We stopped there several times because they have delicious homemade ice cream.
The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is an amazing event. It certainly did not disappoint and it should be on your “bucket list.” We spent ten days there watching the hot air balloons ascend daily. We would highly recommend it.
White Sands National Park in New Mexico was a real surprise. It’s hard to imagine that this beach-like scene is located in the middle of the desert.
In a recent post, we posted a photo of my Picacho Peak painting. Picacho Peak State Park is in Arizona, not far from where we are camping now (See previous post).
Finally, here’s a “bonus” painting of some poppies.
So as we celebrate this milestone, we wanted to thank you for your continued kind words of encouragement and friendship. We look forward to sharing more of our experiences with you as we continue our fabulous journey.
